      The journey to find my husband of three years through Christian Singles Washington DC has been quite an experience. It all started with a friend of mine suggesting that I join a single Christian dating site. Knowing that I would balk at this idea she helped me through the entire process from beginning to end. She guided me through the application process, choosing appropriate photos and even said she’d be my “cell phone out” if things weren’t going well.

       

      I went on several dates but none of them were my type. Since I was in my late twenties I didn’t want to speed date with 50 year olds. This idea scared me just as much as the dating sites, but I agreed to go if a friend went along.

       

      The speed dating was great. It was like having 20 dates in one night. After the speed dating portion most everyone went back to the bar to have some drinks and appetizers. This one man I was interested in (who unfortunately was interested in someone else) told me that this man at his church was holding an amazing bible study group. It turned out we belonged to the same church but I had never noticed him before. He gave me the man’s number and he said I was welcome to attend. So far Christian Singles Washington DC had me on quite the singles experience.

       

      The bible study, which is a great way to meet Christian singles, was held in his house just outside of DC in an area called Falls Church. It was an easy drive from my house in Alexandria. When I walked in the door we took one look at each other, like in some cheesy chic flick, and I knew I had to get to know him better.

       

      After the bible study he served some veggie platters and other snacks and we sat down and talked. As people left he kept saying, “don’t go yet,” as he escorted people out of his house. I was the last one there and we talked for hours. Besides continuing with bible study we dated for two years and then got married.       The Bible does speak about waiting till marriage before having sex? Condoms do protect from stds, so it would be a good thing to have just in case. I feel that nobody is prefect and that we all fall short of the glory of God. So if they were to have sex they would be safe from catching anything and would be thinking responsible.
