Joseph and Aseneth (alternatively spelled Asenath) is an ancient apocryphal expansion of the Book of Genesis’s account of the patriarch Joseph’s marriage to Aseneth. According to Genesis 41:45, Pharaoh gives Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah (Pentephres in the Septuagint) priest of On to Joseph as a wife. Genesis 41:50-52 narrates that Asenath bore Joseph two sons Manasseh and Ephraim. No more is said of her. Like many narratives in Genesis, the biblical story is tantalizingly brief, and raises questions that were to fascinate later interpreters. Why would an upstanding descendant of Jacob (Israel) marry the daughter of a pagan priest, and how could it be justifiable? How could two of the eponymous tribes be descended from union with an outsider, otherwise prohibited by the Mosaic Law? The story of Joseph and Aseneth sets out to answer some of those questions. The twenty-nine chapters of Joseph and Aseneth narrate the conversion of Aseneth, from idolatry to monotheism and the worship of Adonai. Aseneth, a virgin who has rejected numerous worthy suitors, falls in love with Joseph when he, as vizier of Egypt, visits her father. Joseph, however, rejects her as an unworthy idol worshipper. Aseneth then secludes herself in her tower, repents of her idolatry, confesses her sin, and embraces Joseph’s God. And how come so many divorced men are on the christian single sites?
Matthew 19:9 Jesus says “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery”

Wouldnt they have to specify that they were faithful, and this divorce was precipitated by an unfaithful spouse which frees him in the eyes of jesus?

And divorced women? Mark 10:12 Jesus states And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery”. 1 Corinthians 7:11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband.

The commands of god are strict mostly in terms of the reconciliation between husband and wife or a life of remaining single in the lord? According to the scripture – a divorced woman who is looking to be married in essence places another soul into jeaopardy, because the NT clearly states adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of god? Just looking for feedback?

Christian singles should never fall into this trap. Once you have sacrificed some important details which the bible stresses as the constituents of a good union then there can be no success. Today’s marriages and dating cases are far too much based on lust and infatuation rather than genuine concerns of duty to each other. This is another criterion that the Christian singles should forever refrain from. Once you have started paying too much attention on the outward beauty and general shape of your partner, lust will set in and you can rest assured that you will have a lot of issues. Lust is a sin and it can lead you no where except to an eventual demise. Built your criteria towards marriage and dating partner on strong foundations such as love and trust, which are long lasting and will prove to you along the lane of life the love of God and his blessings on your relationship. It is a high time that Christian singles realize that they are not of this world and their criteria towards anything in life must reflect the inherent Godliness, and righteousness. Let you criteria towards dating and marriage be guided by prayer and proper counseling. The thing with modern singles is that they are not making use of counseling instances as they should do. Counseling means that you get to meet people who have been there before to guide you through the standing issues affecting your criteria for an ideal relationship. Talking to your church leader, married Christian spouses or your parents or members of your family will make sure that you get the right and necessary guidelines that will clear any doubt from your mind. Prayers are a must in each and every step. The problem with modern Christian singles is that they are praying less and less. The lesser you prayer the more you fall into temptations, and the more you will flop in your search for the right partner.

I never thought it would be so hard. Are there any real christian single women in my age range? (i’m 24) I’ve never had a problem meeting for finding women, but finding one who has real values and understands that i put Christ first in a relationship? seems impossible, any advice other than christian dating sites that cost money?
well, i’m not trying to judge anyone, its just that most women i date admit they aren’t realy spiritualy strong, they say they only go out with me for physical reasons. I do trust God to take care of me, and i thank you for that advice and for your prayers. I guess my real question is: why are there so few christian women in the world?
